Getting the chance to create memories for people on their wedding day is a treat in itself, but that treat becomes extra sweet when the people you meet become friends and invite you to keep telling their story after the guests leave and everyone goes home. When Aude + Ken reached out to me after their honeymoon in Hawaii wanting to re-live the wedding experience, I was beyond excited for us to get all dressed up again and have a little fun this time around. Even more exciting, however, was their idea to do a beach Trash the Dress session.
From here, we packed our gear and set sail for the day's adventure in La Jolla. One of my favorite spots in San Diego, the water here is crystal blue and offers so many great views. For Aude and Ken, it was the first time they'd been here and, man, did it offer the perfect backdrop for a unique and memorable time together. So glad I got to see these two again and pause more moments in their story!
I can't say enough sweet things about how perfectly in love these two are! Having originally met in high school through friends, Ilze + Cesar lost contact after graduating but coincidentally ran into each other one day and knew from there that they had found the One. After hearing their story and how Cesar proposed to Ilze at the same spot he asked her to be his girlfriend, I knew these two were the real deal and couldn't wait to document their tale. Their sweetness was too contagious!
As the days counted down to their Point Loma, nautical-inspired wedding, I kept growing more and more excited to photograph these two lovebirds and all their planning. When I arrived the day-of, I was in awe of Ilze's gorgeous dress and stunning bouquet. Having incorporated so many fun, personal details throughout the day made the occasion even more special to capture. Did I also mention they picked the BEST first dance song (Cat Power's "Sea of Love") as a cherry on top of an already lovely day!? Like I said, these two are perfect.
Day-dreaming of all the spectacular views I'll be taking in with Charmaine + Julio during their beautiful Mt. Soledad Club wedding later this year! From being fellow Lefties, to have a killer sense of style; these two are planning the perfect modern, chic celebration and I couldn't be more excited! ❤️
Cristina and Ricky...what gems these two are. Originally from Boston, these soul mates fell in love at first sight during Cristina's first night in the city for Grad school after Ricky laid eyes on her and couldn't help but compliment her awesome curly hair. From that point on, fate was sealed and aren't we glad because these two are perfect for each other!
When it finally came time for their wedding last October, everything was flawless from the Bride's gorgeous flower crown to the groom and his groomsmen's awesome theme-coordinated socks. Having been my first time to Menifee, I was quite surprised to find this hidden treasure of a Wedgewood venue tucked away behind a cloud of foliage on an otherwise unbeaten path but couldn't have imagined anything better. With so many unique, fun details and hints of personalities, this wedding was such a treat to capture!
